I hear a lot that they are extremely rare.. and i would loooove to keep him.. i just cant. He is around 5-6 months, and just beautiful, friendly, curious, and gets along great with the flock just not sure how much i should sell him for.. any ideas?

well I would seel a normal rooster for about $5-$10 but if hes a rare breed I would personally spend up to about $35 - $45 but I really don't have much idea.

Nowadays only a premium example pedigree with proven lineage Ayam Cemani Roo will cost you $2000, you can get your garden variety all day for a few hundred...

The market is falling on them, you can get a pair directly from Greenfire (origins of most of the line bred garden variety being offered) for $2k...

I was just offered some day old Ayam Cemani chicks a few weeks back from a local guy, he was only asking $100 a chick... His adults looked decent but I'm sure they were just garden variety...

As for what a roo is worth, it's worth as much as someone will pay... As for a Buckeye if it's just a hatchery grade, it's pretty much worth nothing they are not rare, every hatchery is selling them for pretty much the same price as every other breed, so maybe $15 for a roo if someone needs one?

I doubt you will find many people willing to pay much more than $50 for any rooster without proven lineage, and then only if they are looking for one...
