So! Who is heading to Stockton? January 24th-25th I've always had to work, and finally do NOT! So, I'm going!!! (I know...I'm geeky in my enthusiasm!)

I plan on going, my first time! Except they changed the date and location, it is going to be January 30th - February 1st in Modesto.

Why is this thread so quite? I read the thread from a couple of years ago and everyone seemed so excited! It seems as though everyone forgot about it.
And I was hoping that some people could tell me a bit more as to what to expect, especially the prices chickens run in the sales barn. I'm sure it probably fluctuates but there is probably an average. Also, what are the best breeders to check out there, etc.

I have been trying to figure out where everyone is, too! I've checked all over the boards and couldn't find anything, so started this thread. Thanks for posting the changes. I am hoping for similar information, too.

If you want to buy, get into the sale area early Saturday or even during setup Friday. A ton of birds move thru the sales area at this show.

We probably won't have much to sell this year because we had to cut way back in October.
Will know more by mid Jan as to what we will have available to bring to sell.

I see you are a member of the brahma club Silseb, you wont happen to be bringing any to the show will you? As that's what I'm most hoping to buy. LF though, not bantam.
dldolan, what birds do you hope to find at the show?

Hi,
I am so bummed that the dates have changed. I planned my schedule moths ago for the 24th of January.

I just wanted to go, as I am always working that weekend! I"d love to see the variety of birds. I raise Splash Marans and am getting started with Bantam Calico/Mille Fleur Cochins.

Maybe you could get someone to switch schedules with you. It would be a shame for you to miss it.I would love to see some pictures of your splash marans by the way.:)

Sorry to say, but we only have bantams. Currently in buff Brahma, golden and silver silver Sebrights.

Ah well I look forward to seeing them anyways. It will be nice to see the chickens of people who are devoted to the breed. I'm interested to see the difference between my young brahma pullets and those of the breeders as well.

I am working on it, so maybe...

I had to restart last spring/summer, so my Marans flock is young. Here is a photo of the oldest pullet, Sylvie, doing her pointer impression. She just started laying two days ago at nine months!! She's better lay until next October!
