Any cheap ideas for a duck pond?

We have two ducks, and we'd like to get them something to swim in that's larger than what they have now, but we're on a budget and the only decent sized things we can find are hundreds of dollars, and most kiddie pools we've looked at wouldn't hold up to duck claws and beaks. Any ideas?

I got 2 hard plastic kiddie pools off Craigslist for free. A hard plastic sand box would work too. What do they have now? I also used a large cement mixing pan when my guys were smaller.

Thanks! Getting them used is a good idea.  They use the base part of one of these at the moment: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6T1IlxGTwo8/TjDHSOV3XaI/AAAAAAAAACI/w-MRNtozgfU/s1600/cage2.jpg

I try to get as much stuff for free for my ducks :) If you can't find any hard pool I think the cement pan would be the next easiest to find. All the hardware stores carry them and it should only be around $15. I know the pet stores had the hard pool clearanced since summer is over. If you are looking to spend a bit more stock tanks would be the next route i would go. Again I would check craigslist before buying new as they can be pricy too, but they last forever and can be repurposed.

I have had up to thirty ducks at a time. I purchased threekiddie pools the first year. They hold up real well. I only have one in use right now with eighteen. It gets cleaned and refilled most every day. They love to get in and slash and wash. During summer I keep all three filled so they can lay in them to keep cool.

Thanks! I think we're either going to go with kiddie pools or one of those rubber 100 gallon horse troughs.
