Hi all, i have just bought some new millefleur pekin chickens but can find no info on them so only a few question's i need answering

Are they hardy?
Do they need any special requirements?
When is there Laying season?
How many eggs will they lay during that time?
And are they broody and look after there young?

Thank you again and i hope you have some answers

Hi,
In the USA they are called Cochins. I previously had LF Cochins, and acquired a trio of Bantam Cochins about five months ago. Rooster is a Blue Mille Fleur (MF), one incomplete MF hen, and one "calico" (more white).
Here is the MF Thread on BYC where you can read more about these birds.

and here is the Calico Bantam Cochin thread as well https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/571812/calico-cochin-thread/890#post_14329743

To answer your questions,

Are they hardy? Not great in rain, as their feet/leg feathers make them soggy!
Do they need any special requirements? Not great flyers, so a ramp might be in order, regular chicken feed, but smaller pellets are easier
When is there Laying season? Whenever they aren't broody!
How many eggs will they lay during that time? I get about 4-5/week from my little hens when they are laying
And are they broody and look after there young? This is a VERY broody breed and the little gals do a great job at mothering, but aren't big, so can't defend well against other LF that are aggressive, or predators.

Here is my rooster, Ricky, the Blue MF

Hens Lucy and Ethel and recent chicks (they each hatched, then co-mothered)

week old chicks
