Greetings I'm new to BYC concerns about "Bumblefoot"?

Greetings everyone,
I am a new member to the BYC. I have been on the site quite a few times over the last couple of years to read various articles etc. And just decided to finally join.
I have 2 buff Orphingtons, a Delaware Rhodie and 1 little white bantam, and yup they all have names

About 2 months ago I noticed that 3 out of our 4 were developing "bumble foot" which at the time I was pretty uninformed about.

Well I am the type of person to start researching and found out that this is something pretty bad for the poor girls. I read on here and a couple of other places that people have a very hard time getting rid of this and that it can be at times impossible.
Well a month later I am glad to say that all of my birds are now doing so much better and the last of a bumble came out of my Rhodie's foot tonight. I never wanted to do any type of surgery/cutting for removal on my birds as I believe that they do feel pain and maybe not the way that we do but pain is pain and I thought if there was another way that was less invasive I was going to try it. If anyone is interested I can share this info.

I'm so glad to hear you got your bumble foot problems under control. Please do share your technique! A lot of people, myself included, are hesitant to perform any procedures on our chickens, unless it's essential.

So glad you were able to treat the bumblefoot! I have always went the surgery route on my birds. But what counts is the outcome and healthy birds!!
