Mine is EXACTLY like that alr2014. I had a divider in the middle for them, and took it down when they turned 3 weeks old....just to give them more room to explore. They didn't start going over on their own until they hit 4 weeks old (I have a 4" raised middle still between them that they roost on..so they have to hop up then over). I keep their dust bath in that side...and I sprinkle meal worms in the pine shavings to give them something to do when they are over there...they love to scratch thru the litter.
Hopefully all 15 make it fine. My 6 made it fine, although it was touch and go for one little australorp. She is still the runt of the group but catching up nicely.
They now routinely use the entire brooder. Food and water and 8" roost are on one side...other side is for play really. Light at 5 weeks is now about 3 feet above the brooder and they are doing just fine with it up that high.
