I would like to keep 3 to 4 ducks in my place, I do not have any body of water for them to swim, is it crucial to supply water for ducks to swim in? I know I can have a small pool for that but it is not crucial I would rather not. I want my ducks to be happy also, because im not only keeping them for eggs but as pets as well.
 
Some people use very large buckets for their ducks to swim in. If you choose a small breed, like Khaki Campbells, then they can bathe in small buckets easily.

Thank you so much for welcoming me, I am very new to duck keeping, I have a book I'm reading and I hope to get some if they are suitable to me.
 
You can buy livestock feed pans that your ducks can bathe in. I feel strongly that waterfowl need water. Just my opinion but to be a good guardian, providing them with a place to swim, meaning kiddie pool, predator proof housing and good food. I realize that everyone has different limitations but we all owe it to our Animals, all species, to give them more than just the bare minimum. So, maybe, if you cannot do that, then consider waiting till you can. Just wanted to throw out some things to think about
 
You are completely right, that's why before I get any animal, I read books and ask people that are knowledgable about them. My biggest thing is to be a good dad to my animal kids and their happiness, then mine. So you are right, I will consider the water issue, and if I can't provide it then I will wait.

Glad to see you researching before getting into duckhood!

Ducks do not "need" bathing water, but it is highly recommended (I, personally, would not keep ducks without the ability to allow them access to bathing water)

Having said that, you could also consider a small, plastic cement mixing tub - works great for allowing a couple of ducks to bathe and play - they are very inexpensive, and are small enough to dump/clean/refill easily and often.

I would highly recommend haveing something for ducks to bath in, for ducks take to water. :)

Best thing for them is getting clean because if you just have a waterer then the ducks are going to try to knock it over and water could spill everywhere and it just be mud. and that just more dirtyness :)

Yeah like everyone has said on here a bucked that is wide and long enough for about 3 ducks is good, or a small pool is good two.
