I've seen posts about shipping chickens eggs by not washing them first, is that such a good idea for duck eggs? or should I think about different nesting material so they are cleaner? my duck eggs are almost always dirtier than my chicken eggs, I use pine shavings for the bedding in both coops.

Since I have not had eggs yet I'm not 100% sure but I believe once an egg is washed it needs to be refrigerated. I believe you can wipe them down but I don't know if I would chance it to then ship for eating. I would see about trying to find a better system so they don't get as dirty.
