Setting 18 eggs tonight

Just got 8 Blue Wheaten eggs in the mail this morning! I have 10 very long hours to go till They go into the incubator! If all goes well I should have fuzzy butts January 24th! I am also setting 10 barnyard mix eggs that I got from a family member. This is the first time I have incubated shipped eggs. I am so nervous! If anyone has any suggestions or anything to help me out with please comment! I would like to hear of your experience with shipped eggs!! Anyone else setting their eggs tonight or tomorrow?

NO...no experiance with shipped eggs...and im not setting just yet!!

I just set 28 eggs at 1120pm yesterday. So my hatch day will be starting on Jan 24th and running into the 25th. I still working on getting my temp and humidity where I want them. I just hatched some in december for the first time and only managed to get 1 to hatch even though 10 made it to lockdown. So I'm hoping for a much better result this time. Good luck to you.

Keeping my fingers crossed you have a great outcome this time! I had my incubator up are going a week before I set my eggs! Wated to be sure temp and humidity were good.

thanks. My incubator has been going since Thursday and I had the temp and humidity fine before setting the eggs, it just took a bit for it to get back to where it was. It's now sitting at about 101 degrees and 42%. I weighed my eggs before setting and will be weighing them on day 4, 7, 10, 14, and 18 to see if I need to adjust the humidity along the way. Last hatch the 9 chicks that didn't make it were shrink wrapped so I am extremely concerned about that happening again so I will be keeping a good eye on my humidity. I'm still amazed that the one chick that hatched even made it out. She pipped and zipped in 4 hours, she was working so hard to get out of that egg and I think had she taken any longer she wouldn't have made it out either.
