Hi all,
I don't write much on here as you can tell but I read the comments and discussions almost every day.
I have a 4 year old emu that I discovered yesterday has an injury of some kind to it's foot. She won't put much weight on it at all and has been laying around a lot. I've been bringing her food and water and she seems to be eating and drinking well. Her foot is very swollen and feels warm to the touch. I looked at the bottom of it thinking there might be a puncture wound or something but saw nothing wrong. I have some antibiotic (duramycin) and was wondering if I might give her a shot of that. I'm sure the injury has something to do with her fighting with the others with it being laying season and all.
I would appreciate any insight that others might have or maybe a similar experience.
I tried contacting several vets but none seemed real interested or just refused to check out an emu.
Thanks
