Just got four silkie chicks 4 days old !!
Was wondering how long they should be on a heating lamp for ?
And any other info I need to know about the heating lamp thanks

The heat lamp should be placed so they can go under to warm up and get away when they are too hot. The temperature under the heat lamp for them should be 95 the first week, and 5 degrees lower every week after until its at 65. That would be 6 weeks which is about when they are all feathered out. Silkies require the same care as standard chickens with the exception they should not be cold and wet. Many also do not roost high up but down on the ground level making a bed out straw or soft bedding. There are many learning topics under the "Learning" tab that have a wealth of information for you. I would also recommend a chicken keeping book to get aquainted with basic requirements of chicken keeping. You'll save yourself a lot of time and headache having more information handy.
