Hey everyone! My name is Mandy :) and I'm new to Backyard Chickens! Well, I just created an account but I've found a whole lot of very helpful information on here for about half a year now!

I have 2 grey call ducks, and one mini appleyard duck - they are my profile picture! I also have 3 yorkshire terriers and all 6 of my babies are my WHOLE world!

I was thinking about getting another 3 ducklings this spring and I really want 2 blue magpie call ducklings and either a white call duckling or a baby pekin duckling! If anybody has any hatching soon and are willing to ship PLEASE let me know! I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Cute, cute!

My first quick thought is I would not toss a Pekin into the mix due to size difference. But there may be many who mix those breeds - just sharing my first impression.

Pekin ducks are beautiful, I think you are right though! Call ducks are my absolute favorite! I love their size, they're just so cute! I want a white call duck and either a pastel call duck or a blue magpie call duck! Anyone with any information, please let me know! Thank you

If you want a white call duck, I can get you some of the best in the entire country - his name is Dan from Three Roses Farm, he lives about an hour North of my town and he's willing to ship eggs nationwide, which many breeders are hesitant to do. Some of the other BYC members have his birds as well, but my Wobbles (check out my avatar) is definitely a testament to the quality of his flock!

As for other breeds I agree that throwing a large breed with a bunch of bantams could be a bad idea. If you want variety, maybe try a black east indie? They're basically like miniature cayugas!

I would love a white call duckling! I want one so badly! Not an egg and not an adult though, a duckling. Although, I know most breeders won't ship them :( By the way, your white call is beautiful!

I have them mixed and no problems even with my wild hatch of babies the parents raised themselves with70% hatch which got eaten as small adults by a hawk last month

I have two grey calls and a mini appleyard (so I thought) turns out he's a SNOWY CALL! I just love him! He's beautiful! So I've decided I want another snowy call and a white call (female day old ducklings) If anyone has any snowy or white calls that are laying/hatching this Spring, please let me know! Maybe we live close and can arrange a pick up! Here are my calls as babies and now at almost 6 months :)
