Hi
My wife and I are new to chickens and we are looking for some advice on the coop design.
Our property is 3/4 acre and we plan on making a 20 sq ft coop, enough space for 5-7 chickens and have an electric netting fence. We are planning on moving the coop and netting around to have a kind of paddock system going.
We are unsure if we should put wheels on it (all four corners) or just have handle bars on either side. The measurements of the coop will be 4ft x 5ft, and like the idea of a well ventilated coop with half of the siding will be wood, the other half will be 1/4inch hardware cloth.
Most of the designs I have seen for a coop this size use wheels, but they are all wood, I would imagine that using hardware cloth would make it lighter and maybe easier to carry without wheels?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
