I was told that a lot of things are fine as treats as long as it is in small bits.
so I have this chick that kinda is like my little baby that had to be separated from the flock. But yeah,so I was snap king on so e almonds and thought maybe about giving him a little, I bit a tiny bit off and gave him some, and now he freaks out every time I am eating almonds and starts trying get into my mouth. He starts pecking my face and lips trying to get some and so I take it that he really likes them, and I just wanted to know how much and often can I give him some.
I've only given him some almonds twice and never a whole almond.
I just wanted to check.

A little should be fine, a couple of almonds a week almost certainly won't hurt him at all. My chooks always loved some nuts.

But he would need shell grit on hand to help him break them up and digest them.

But his desperation sounds like his diet needs supplementing a bit more. Some chooks go nuts for anything white, even plastic, because their instincts tell them that's calcium. Otherwise, he may be seeking the proteins or oils he can taste in the nut. What sort of diet do you have him on?

Best wishes.

Oh really?
He does go after white things, like if I'm laying down and talking on the phone he has jumped up and pecked me in the tooth a few times.
I have him on chick starter/grow and I give him snacks every now and then. Either by choice or because he will just snatch some.
As well as I take him out to the backyard and he'll peck at grass and bugs.

He should be able to consume almonds that are intact without problems. Mine can consume items that are larger. I have yet to have a chicken consume too much of a given item so long as they have choices.

oh he's still pretty small. He can pick up an almond and run off with it, but he hasn't managed to eat one without my help yet

The running play can be a mechanism for breaking some food items into pieces small enough to swallow. My chicks to the same with large grasshoppers and praying mantids to dismember prey before swallowing.
