Hi, two questions. 1. Do I need to treat for coccidiosis and when?
2. What other than chick crumb can I feed them?

Hi and welcome to BYC! Some people used medicated chick starter and some don't. If you have damp or wet ground with a lot of rain you should likely use medicated feed to help get the chicks immune to cocci.Hi, two questions. 1. Do I need to treat for coccidiosis and when?

I go to the hardware store and buy play sand it is cheaper and you get like 50# for under 5.00 it is fine sand and clean. I even use it to brood my turkey poults on.Thanks very much for that info. They don't have it, I was purely wondering if i needed to as a precaution. They seem very happy and healthy. I can get some fine grit for them if necessary. I just offered them some cooked egg which I think they will enjoy once they realise its food.
