So I have my GQF Sportsman loaded with pheasant eggs- Amherst, Red Golden, Yellow Golden, Ringneck and Dark Throat. Last season, I got chicks from all my birds so was excited to see how this yr would fair-
I candled last night and discovered that not a single egg from my Dark Throats is fertile!! Everything else is developing nicely except for the Dark Throats do not show any fertility. I have not changed anything in their flight, the diet is the same for all breeders, there are sight barriers in place for the different birds.
Is it possible that my cockbird has gone sterile? Should I look to replace him or could he just be having an "off" year?
Thanks for any words of wisdom here...
