Rotten Egg exploded onto the others - day 22 - I'm worried about infection

A bad egg either exploded or was broken open and the stink is covering the other eggs, this happened a few days ago but I was away. Yesterday I moved the hen and her clutch to a new nest. Two eggs have hatched with another pipping. The chicks are very small. One of the eggs was 'ticking' last night and is now silent. I gave the two chicks a bath and blow dry and put triple antibiotic cream on their belly buttons. They still stink. I washed the outside of the other eggs with a toothbrush and some natural soap but they still wreak and I don't want to wash too much in case the porous nature of the egg could get water in there ( I have absolutely no idea). Is there anything else I should or should not do? She is an Orpington and a first time mom.

The eggs are cream legbars (one hatched), black copper Marian's ( one hatched and one pipping), Swedish flower (one that stopped ticking), Bresse.

Today there are only the three chicks ( two Marian's and a cream legbar) no other signs from the other eggs

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the other eggs might not have made it, bacteria from the rotten egg might have gotten in there and killed the eggs. And even cleaning them with the soap and toothbrush might not have helped. Eggs have a protective coating that can be washed off although idk if you left them be they would have been any better. I'm new to this however so I wouldn't give up quite yet but in my limited experience when rotten eggs get broken on other eggs the bacteria can easily kill them. That's why it's so important to cull any infertile eggs or dead ones.
The chicks that hatched however might be okay but I don't have any experience with chicks that hatched with a rotten egg.
I wouldn't give up quite yet, I'd keep an eye on the eggs for a little while longer, maybe candle them to see what's going on inside.

Thanks, I knew about the protective barrier but really didn't know what was the best thing to do. When I candled last some eggs were totally dark some eggs had a good size air sac and veins. The fully dark ones were among the ticking so I'm thinking that they are dead...

it showed up as totally dark when candling. The other egg that I was certain was no good looks like it started and quit after 10 or so days. Of the three other eggs, only one has an air sac. The other two are totally dark. Should I remove the dark ones?

Yeah I would remove the dark ones :( you don't want them going bad and endangering the one egg that might survive. I hope you have better hatches in the future. :)

Removed the two dark ones...they must have been rotten for weeks. Can still see a bit of an air sac in two ( the Maran egg is very dark so I'm not 100% sure with it) I'll let you know how it goes...yes three babies out of twelve eggs is a little sad but at least we have three

This thread has been very helpful. We have a hen who is setting for the first time. We just found a busted rotten egg. When I removed her from the nest so she would go eat and do her business I found it. So I cleaned all the bedding and with a towel and a little warm water tried to get the bedding that was stuck on one of the eggs. This egg I know is fertile. Two questions 1) my hen is filthy! Do I bath her? 2) what is the likelihood that the other eggs are ok.? They are schedule to hatch in the next 4 days

Not sure what advice I can give. The two remaining eggs died. One was like the photo I attached - fully formed but dead. The other was also dead but appeared to be a few days from hatching. I didn't wash the hen. The three babies that did hatch are happy and healthy. I put triple antibiotic cream on their belly buttons for the first two days. Let me know how your hatch goes, hope you have better luck than I did!
