I joined after about two days of lurking.  I found my peeps!

 

Sadly though, I will not be able to have any chickens in the near future.  I'll be getting involved in the urban backyard chicken movement though.  I really hope that catches on and the stupid HOA rules change!  Meanwhile, I'll enjoy everybody else's chickeny experiences by reading this board. :)

I found this site when I just had some baby chicks- thanks to my husband saying, 'don't take those eggs I marked she's been sitting on them to long, I'm letting her keep them'.. He's so sweet :-/
I only lurked for a few days & am also guilty of posted when I found a post I may have been able to answer lol I will confess to know nothing about chickens & don't know how I've had them so long smile.png without!
I can't post photos from my phone sad.png & have none on my computer. So I searched tons of photos of baby chicks and swore the baby's were going to be black or grey silkies. Silkie mom was sitting on them..
But guess I have mutt chickens now - they have Silkie feet but are black and white like the silver laced Wyandottes?!!

Every time I scroll to the bottom of the screen and see how many active users we have on here, I notice that there are up to 3 times as many lurkers as members. At the moment there are 342 members and 795 guests onsite? Come on... Sign up and talk to us! Being a member's more fun than lurking. You can post in the threads, enter the contests...

I think it starts with google...someone thinks about chickens and googles...and then that leads them here...but that question leads to another that leads to a topic, that leads to a discussion, and then you are lurking often and just reading and reading, and then you are like Hey, I'll sign up
