Getting 125 in the mail on Thursday. Looking for some thoughts, hints, tips. We keep the turkeys in a climate controlled trailer with a brooder heater and a air conditioner when needed. What temp? For how long? I have bought the 28% protein food. How much? When do you start increasing feed. I have a chart for how much to feed my cornish X but haven't seen one for turkeys. Does anyone have a chart for feed quantity per week? Do they do ok on chick electrolytes?

Start at 90°F measured at bedding level with cooler areas that they can retreat to when desired. The heated area should be such that they can freely move in and out of the heat as they feel the need. Reduce the heat by 5°F each week until the poults are living at the ambient temperature.

Others may disagree but I keep my feeders full all the time and allow the poults to eat as much as they want. I would keep them on the 28% protein for at least the first two weeks. I usually switch mine to turkey grower which is 24% protein when I remove them from my brooder which normally happens when they are two to three weeks old.

Chick electrolytes will be good for the poults.

The thing that helped when I raised BBWs was that I was able to free range them once they were fully feathered and the ambient temperature was up to normal summer temps.
