How much should they be eating now?

No- we have a six acre pond. They are safer out there than in a pen around here. The momma goose and two others adopted us and our pond and I bought the babies to keep her company. I'd be more terrified that something would figure out how to hack a pen and then they would have no way to escape. I'm looking for a pond island to put out in the middle for them.

That's nice after the last 2 winters here in these mountains I wouldn't mind moving were it rarely gets below freezing. On a property with a nice big pond and no snapping turtles what state in the south do you live in without snappers? lol then all my water fowl could frolic all day long and i could sit an watch them.

I live in Texas- we don't have seasons. We have summer and February. LOL! We definitely have snapping turtles- I just don't have any on my pond. They would be quickly eradicated as my kids swim in our pond. I love my geese but I'm definitely not taking any chances with my two legged kiddos. I tried letting the big kids in with the little ones today and they were a bit more aggressive than I cared for. Nipping at the babies- may be how they get to know each other but I'll wait a bit more and try again later when they are a bit bigger maybe? What do you recommend?

I think your right, it takes time for everyone to adjust so try and give them sometime together daily with you always ready to intervene if it gets rough. But once the babies get around 3-4 weeks old they should be accepted. Was mama nipping too? or just the younger ones? If you feel things were getting out of hand then by all means keep them separated till older. I worry more about the little ones getting trampled.
