I have to respectfully disagree...

The birds start crowing at about 6 weeks, it's not like a full grown rooster crow but they can and definitely do crow. I've had some batches that were quiet and some that were noisy.

I'm amazed about what people will complain about. Nobody seems to care if the neighbors dogs bark 24/7 but for heavens sake let us not hear a rooster. Makes absolutely no sense

We just did 100 straight run Cornish cross and maybe two were trying to crow on butchering day at 9.5 weeks. I hadn't heard anything before then, although certainly they "thought" they were kings and were attempting to rape everything in sight (too fat! Hahah!) so it is possible to get a noisy one early I suppose. You do have to kill on the spot, because they are confused and hormonal and young and will crow alllllll night long and you will want to kill them the next morning!

This has been my experience too. Rare, but possible to get real young crowers. Can't say that I have heard a 6 week old rooster of any breed crow.
And yes, I have done meaties before.
