Please help! Is a lump of squishy fat behind her legs and green liquid beside her poop a symptom of water belly??

Please help! This has been happening for awhile now, but the green liquid issue is becoming more often and I don’t know why. She eats a good duck feed and has chicken or salmon everyday, so there’s unlikely to be anything wrong with her diet.

What are normal side effects of suprelorin injection?

Hi All, One of my rescues started getting the common problem that many rescues do, EYP. Having lost most of my others this way I decided after her second round of getting it and surviving with antibiotics (tylan) to try an implant. I was expecting the side effects such as lethargy and loss of...

    Smoke Effects on Chickens?

I just acquired an Isabel Lavender Mottled English Orpington pullet and a hatch mate on Saturday from a breeder I know and trust that lives up in the hills where smoke from a nearby fire was REALLY awful. The mottled pullet had a runny nose when I brought her home and seemed a bit stressed out...

My chicken has a pimple, what is this?

I have two chickens with a pimple near their nose/ beak area. It’s fairly firm and she gets uncomfortable when I try and squeeze it. It started with one chicken but now two of them have it. I have looked at many chicken diseases but nothing looks like this. If anyone knows what it is and how I...

Can Domestic Geese Carry Avian Influenza?

Hi Everyone, I am wondering whether anyone can tell me -- can my domestic geese (Sebastopols) recover from AI/carry it without showing symptoms? Seemingly healthy pullet but showing strange symptoms

I have a 6 month old pullet with a strange backstory. So she hatched from my two Easter Eggers and was always quite small for her age. When she was 3.5 months old, her feet got severe frost bite and she lost all her toes. She has lived in our house since but has been showing weird symptoms since...

Are there any signs of illness or am I just paranoid

My chickens outside have been infected with Infectious coryza and are all being culled as we don't have a cure for the disease. The chicks inside aren't affected by the disease and were born last Friday. I noticed today that a chick quickly spasmed it's it's almost as though it was sneezing. I...

    Mystery illness/injury

I am caring for my daughter's 5 month old hen as I have nursed many back to health. This time is a bit of a mystery. She has been dragging her right leg for two weeks. It feels like she has no muscle/fat on that thigh compared to the other. Her poo is completely normal and no respiratory issues...

Suspected severe sour crop - new chicken owners

First post from long-time lurkers. We bought a couple of scrawny chickens from a dodgy back yard breeder. Both had pretty pale combs, patchy feathers. One had a runny nose and would cough/sneeze. Months later and one of them, the one without the runny nose, is very healthy - plenty of weight...
