Locust whimpered and whined, he was starving and cold, he then scented the presence of a nearby wolf, of his pack.
Locust whined, and squirmed away from Hail, then looked at him. Locust then walked toward Hail gratefully.((By the way, Hail just joined the pack, so he'd be a stranger to Locust.))
Hail had moved quickly, weaving back and forth through the long grass, systematically searching for the lost pup. The wind had picked up, and the edge of the dark clouds were almost upon them, drops of rain beginning to fall. Hail stopped, scanning the grassland as the sun was blocked by the clouds, the rain now steadily falling. Where are you... He thought, muscles tense with the urgency of the situation. And then, he heard the whining, and looked quickly in its direction, seeing the small black form of a pup, about thirty feet away, barely visible in the tall grass.
Hail ran to the pup, the wet grasses whipping in the wind, "Locust," He said, a gentle yet authoritative tone to his voice, "I'm going to get you back to camp." He moved towards the wet pup, intending to pick it up in his jaws and head back quickly.
Locust whined, and squirmed away from Hail, then looked at him. Locust then walked toward Hail gratefully.
(Trying to get on Blaze's good side, hmm?)
((Mmmmm, no...))
Locust barked in happiness as they arrived back at the camp.Hail looked kindly at the scared pup, and said, "It will be alright, little one." Then he gentle picked Locust up in his jaws, and moved quickly back towards camp, knowing how important it was to get the pup fed and warmed.
