What does it mean to be human?

Since the beginning of existence man has struggled to define the idea of a human. Is it a being possessing a soul? If this logic were to be true, animals could be considered humans, as well as aliens. But that would simply be incorrect, a lie. To be a human is so much more. It is more than a soul, it's to have a spirit; the capacity beyond being able to experience emotions, the influence of a free will, rather than being driven by instinct. It is to have a dream, a passion, to have a love for life.

A Spirit unites the humans as one, while setting them apart for their uniqueness.

One day, many centuries ago, aliens reached Earth, the territory humans have claimed as their own. Immediately, without negotiating with the new and odd creatures, humans slaughtered a large percentage of the aliens. If only the humans had been slow to violence. They then would have understood that the aliens had no home to return to, and had come to Earth in the hope of living peacefully among the humans. They had a hope that humans and aliens alike could live as one.

War raged between the two. Humans took aliens captive, keeping them locked up and treating them savagely to boast of their defeat to the other side. In response, aliens took humans captive as well, but their hostages were given a fate far worse than imaginable. The aliens took the humans, and with their advanced technology created clones of them. The process killed the ‘original’ human. The clones were empty, spiritless shells, and were easily mind-controlled by the aliens who used them to secretly dwell among the humans, as they appeared to be one of them, and kill them when given the chance. Every clone created by the aliens had no soul, but were rather like a robot; their actions lead by the purpose given to them by their creator, what they considered to basically be their god.

But to no avail, for even with their powerful army of clones the humans somehow defeated the aliens. To their shame the aliens reverted to their instincts for survival. Shape-shifting. These aliens can take on the likeness of the living being closest to them as their nature's camouflage. Now they depend on this ability to survive, as it allows them to hide among the humans, by appearing to be one. There's only one problem… The clones have awakened, and were now not like mindless roaches, but people.

Not even their creator knew this would happen, the clones were programmed to destroy the humans, but since that mission failed the clones are no longer controlled, but have awoken from their robotic state. They can feel, express emotions, and possess a soul like the humans. It was thought, that perhaps the clone’s had been given the soul of those they were cloned from, but it became obvious that they are their own person only controlled by their free will.

After the aliens were defeated and shamed by the humans they fled for safety, abandoning the clones as if they were nothing more than a failed experiment. But now they have awoken and escaped the building in which they were created to live among the humans. Many clones struggle to begin a life knowing nothing beyond being programmed as a weapon, and they often even perish, for it is difficult to escape the ignorance they have been taught. The humans capture the clones forcefully, convincing themselves that they are nothing more than a machine. With demonic experiments they have gained knowledge of the clones, reprogramming them to eliminate the remaining aliens. But, even vengeful clones programmed to kill cannot blind the humans enough to have them all denying that perhaps all the clones really are...

《Summary》

Humans have claimed Earth as their own. But a very odd species has planned to change that.

More than a hundred years ago, aliens invaded Earth with intentions of peace, but humans reacted with violence. To protect themselves, aliens captured humans and made clones of them. These clones would do anything the aliens wanted, which was to destroy the humans, and therefore were very useful weapons.

But the humans still won the bloody war, and so the aliens abandoned the clones and struggle to survive without being caught.

The clones have woken up from their mindless state, and now, while still ignorant of the human world, have to fit in or else they will be caught. The humans want to capture them all and still continue to use them as weapons.

But the clones aren't just animals. Somehow, they have turned into separate souls. They are their own person. Only time will tell them whether they will survive among humans or be forced to eliminate their controller's enemies.

《Species》

1000

Mira- (Plural for Mirus)
The Mira were a peaceful species of aliens who lived on their home planet until its destruction forced them to search for another dwelling. It became known to them that Earth’s atmosphere was able to satisfy the Mira’s needs. With the war that was brought upon the Mira at their arrival, the Mira decided to do what they have always done; protect their kind from enemies who seek their harm. Which, in this case, is the humans. Despite the fact that Mira are not human, their nature is intelligent, collected, and they are masters of mind games. While they can be violent, it is caused by their loyalty to their family and friends when harm befalls them.

Mira have something odd about them that is not just their advanced technology and appearance. They have the ability to camouflage into their surroundings, which now, in this deadly territory they landed on, is more useful than ever.

But they do have their downfalls, too. Given the fact that Mira were born and raised on a completely different planet for thousands of years, they have never been exposed to Earth's metals. The naturally occurring metals of Earth have a negative effect on the Mira. Not only do the metals burn their skin, but if it is ingested it could possibly have a fatal impact. So, it is not question that while Mira are strong, they have an almost unavoidable weakness.

Humans-
Ever since the Mira came to Earth the humans have been divided into two sides;

*Contenders*
A small group of people who gather across the globe secretly to discuss ways to put their belief of creating peace between both humans and aliens into action, and overtaking those who stop them from sharing their beliefs publicly.

*C.M.I.*
Clone Manipulation Investigation
A large number of Earth's inhabitants who fight to destroy the remaining aliens, either by killing or enslaving them. To ensure their success they capture every human who speaks publicly of their belief in peace, locking them where their words won't influence others opinions, and collecting clones, and through cruel experiments gain knowledge of how to use them to kill every last alien.

1000

Clones-
The clones are all created by the Mira. They look just like whoever they were cloned from, but actually have a different spirit and aren't just empty shells like they used to be. Something went wrong with them and now they either try to live in society or get controlled by humans to kill off the rest of the aliens, which could be good for revenge or just plain morbid depending on how you look at it

All clones have a brand on their wrist that looks very similar to a bar code. It's the way Mira kept track of them, but nowadays it's just a thing that gives clones away to people. Because, constantly covering your wrist isn't easy.

The clones have no specific weaknesses or strengths. They're just like people except...Artificial.

《Sepulchrum》
Sepulchrum is the spacecraft used by Mira to come to Earth. After the arrival of the unwanted strangers, the humans disabled the Sepulchrum's ability to fly, leaving the Mira stranded, and unable to flee their cruel fate. With Sepulchrum's capacity to become invisibile, replicating the talents of their creators, it has become the Mira's only refuge. The Sepulchrum's several floors were remodeled as needed, each level providing the Mira with a particular necessity. After their defeat, the Mira fled Sepulchrum as it's location become known to the humans. Now used by humans, it used to increase knowledge Mira, as well as discover their weeknesses which can be used to end lives of their enemies:

Level 00-
Once the Sepulchrum's controlling center, now used as a place battle stredgy is laid out as humans devise a way to finish the Mira; once and for all.
Level 01-
A containment facility where a individual cell is designated for a single prisoner. While the cells used for Mira are empty to increase chance of surrender to the humans the required information, the Clone cells have a few devices so that they can be observed of the knowledge each possesses. Each cell is without a door, but is rather replaced by a door programed to shock the prisoners if touched, but allows the guards to walk through the force without being harmed.
Level 02-
Completely dedicated to increased knowledge of their enemies, this level is used by the humans for sience alone; either on test subjects or other materials.
Level 03-
Not much is know about this level except that prisoners taken there never return.

For the past month Garjzla and I have worked together to create this role play. The plot for Human After All was originally thought of by me, but it is Gajzla 's brilliance that brought it to life. I want her to know how thankfull I am to her for helping me in every detail of this role play, especially for her talented writing; I enjoyed seeing her brilliant ideas come together mine as we worked together and achieved, in my opinion, a fantastic world that seems far more real than fictional.

NOTE: BOTH I, Run Wild, & Gajzla HAVE THE POWER TO ACCEPT FORMS AS WELL AS ANSWER QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE PLOT.

(I'll have Max send him in if that's fine with you both)

"No, I don't think so," Amy said worriedly. She nervously bit her nail as she looked around the room once more. "I got home a few minutes ago and the shop is complete empty. And th-there's a pool of blood in the kitchen and—" she stopped there, on the verge of tears, letting Jaxson think what he wanted to.
-
Jaxson fidgeted with his watch as he listened anxiously. He was already headed for Max's office before she finished. "I'll find it what I can and get back to you," he promised before hanging up to quickly call Max.
-
Amy let out a sigh she hadn't been aware she was holding in. There wasn't any outside thing she could do about the situation for now, so she went to find rags and a bucket to clean up the blood. It was unnerving her and was way too much of a distraction to do anything else until it was gone.
Amy finished cleaning the floor and went to dump the bag of bloodied and wet rags in the trash can out back. She had finally stopped shaking enough to pour herself a cup of tea without spilling it, so she took that and the newspaper that had been delivered earlier and went upstairs to try to read it.

Her mind, so muddled by the day's and last week's events, wouldn't allow the words to come into reasonable focus, and she soon gave up. She tossed the paper to the side and went over to the window overlooking the street. He still hadn't called back and every minute passed her imagination formed new, awful ideas about Artemis and the pool of blood. And Jenny. Where had Jenny gone off to? Had they both been taken? Had the employee turned Artemis in or taken her somewhere safer?

(Yes, you can still make a character!
And here's the summary of what has happened so far:
A girl named Artemis, who is 19, was working for the C.M.I as an undercover Contender. She's been caught and so now Thomas Shyr Mythe, a scientist who is honestly a little bit insane, is responsible for interrogating her. He's used venom already, which nearly killed her, and now he's using his own specially made substance that literally burns her skin from the inside out. Jaxson, who is trusted with Artemis, is secretly trying to help her and is eventually going to help her escape.
Mythe is currently able to get information out of Artemis, but she's actually completely lying to him, so his questions are getting more complex just so he can see if she's telling the truth or not.
Meanwhile, Han Cheng, the person who technically runs the C.M.I, is going to ask Mythe a few questions about his dead sister, Aya Pearl Mythe, who was found in an article in the newspaper, apparently being a wealthy neurosurgeon. Mythe claimed she had died because of the aliens, so if she is still alive, there's a great chance that she is currently a clone.
That's pretty much what has happened!)
(Wow so thorough, Gar :thumbsup [and I'm not being sarcastic. You can tell because I used an emoji ;) ] But one objection: in the sentence I underlined. WHO SAID I WAS GOING TO HAVE JAXSON HELP HER ESCAPE?? XD Am I that predictable? :/ I think I'll go work on some plot twists now...)
