As you can see from this diagram, the position you're describing is not along the oviduct. Maybe you could start a new thread stating all the exact details of this lump? I'm really stumped.

The lump you described does seem to be where the gizzard is. Maybe you should at least call a vet now? This doesn't seem like a simple problem.

I think I am going to wait a day, she seemed to be feeling a lot better yesterday. If she doesn't get any better I'll try calling tomorrow.

I don't believe that this is a case of egg binding as in that thread. The lump is not at the vent, it is about where the gizzard is.

I agree with JacobMaxwell. It isn't anywhere near where the egg should or probably even could be. She was doing great, acting like a normal chicken today. Strange!
