Next round rear chicks with rooster. I can even get some of my roosters to become literally broody and in free-range setting the roosters of my line normally take over rearing duty about time hen goes back to nest. Somehow rooster suppresses aggression amoung young birds and this may be done without overt aggression. In free-range setting where flock size is less than 20 the rooster gets juveniles to move about in a tighter group and cover a larger area while foraging.
