I have 7 16 week old pullets that are getting around the age where they should probably be laying sometime in the next month or so right? Anyways, I’ve gone down to the coop multiple times to find 1 or 2 or 3 of them laying in the nesting boxes, or scratching the straw out. I did a little bit of research and found out that this could mean they might start laying soon? I don’t think they are really ready to lay but could they? I’ll add some pictures of what some of them look like.

Yes! Usually means they are close to laying when they scout out the nest boxes. That, and your girls are getting some pretty color in the combs and wattles. Won't be too much longer, hang in there! Beautiful girls :)

Thank you! I have 2 brown leghorns, 1 white leghorn, 2 New Hampshire reds, 1 black sex link, and 1 golden laced Wyandotte. The one brown leghorn with the big comb and wattles is so close to laying, 😫 probably just about another week.
