they are about 6 weeks old.
I’m confident that Penny is a cockerel (tell me if you agree), and hoping/thinking that Glowey may be female? But could be wrong and both could be boys.

I’ve marked the pics with P for Penny and G for Glowey

These combs are still quite light.
I do not see much wattle formation either.
I am of the mind they are both pullets. At 6 weeks, may be a bit early still. 😊

Penny could be either. Glowey is probably female. I'd give them at least a couple of weeks more to be sure. Watch for larger comb and wattles and redness in those areas. Birds that get that before 14 weeks are usually male.

Thank you both. There's no noticeable wattle development on either of them, but I'll keep observing them.

We've got 2 adult Speckled Sussex hens that are very different in the combined wattle department, as well as temperament (a boss chicken who's top hen - even has top spot over the rooster! and the other is a scared chicken who's 4/5 out of the 5 hens, but gets on well with the rooster, I think the only hen receptive to his advances haha).
I wouldn't mind if one of these light Sussex is a roo to replace little feller to better service the ladies ;)

I just am too impatient to wait for crowing for egg laying haha
