Just curious what they turned out to be. I just bought some ice cream bar eggs and I was told all females are only black. Is this true? Do the females come in other colors besides just black? But if the breeder used an Cream Legbar rooster and Isbar hens then the babies would not be sexableJust curious what they turned out to be. I just bought some ice cream bar eggs and I was told all females are only black. Is this true? Do the females come in other colors besides just black? Thanks
Thanks for your answer. I think that might be the case. The person online I bought the eggs from was not friendly and very blunt with her answer, the most I could get out of her was “the males will be barred.”One line. But her pictures show a beautiful rooster with brown barred chest, cream around neck and a black/green sheen tail colors With barring. ..and a all black hen with a small crest in another picture. The eggs are not like her picture ....at all. The picture shows a group of vibrant teal blue eggs. The eggs she mailed to me are very pale mint green. She said they lay lighter in color this time of year.?? Never heard of that.Ask the breeder what the parents of the Icecream bars are. Some breeders use different crosses and the cross has to be done with the rooster being black base and the hen being a certain color. Icecream bars that are an Isbar rooster crossed on a Cream Legbar Hen would have solid black or blue (no white flecking “cuckoo”) pullets and cuckoo cockerels
