2013 Sebastopol Breeding/Gosling Thread

Do the ganders tend to start to outgrow a goose at some point? I have two, and the younger one (by about 9 days) is now noticeably bigger in size and weight than the other. Could this one be a gander? They are 8

Could be. But I also have one really large girl. Might be because I am working with color stock. Whites might be more consistent. Anybody?

The larger and younger one looks to be a splash. It did have a saddleback mother. The smaller one is white of white parents.

I'm a new goose momma so I'm just watching them closely. And noticing the younger one grow bigger than the older, I naturally start to worry. They are on grass 10-11 hrs a day, purina duck grower pellets and brewers yeast mixed in besides all the extra goodies I give them.

Wow! They look very healthy. I wouldn't worry too much

Welcome to the family Anatidae!

If the gosling are under 3 weeks old they need a waterfowl grower food. At 3 weeks change it over to adult waterfowl feed.
Who did you get your sebbies from may I ask?

OH! congrats on the new sebbie goslings you will love them dearly.
