21 day incubation under broodyhen but no chicks

Hi we have a hen sat on 12 fertile eggs and today is day 21 and still no chicks we have done the lighttest and some are dark at one end and light at the other also the hen smells and so do the eggs and they are dirtyer now then they were when we put them in can anyone help please

Chickens don't count days, so be patient. They can still hatch, but it may take another day or two.

If she accidently cracked an egg or two over them the other eggs may became infected and the embryos are dead now..... they may fully grown but couldn't hatch.... it happened with me this year and some died in the early stages of development and other at lock down... but you should wait another day and see what happens.... keep us posted...
