4 Week Old Barred Rock--Pullet or Cockerel?

Alritey, I'm back with more photos! Approximately 6 weeks old and it's lookin' like a roo.

Thoughts?
If I do, in fact, have a rooster on my hands, what are your suggestions for the future? I only have the one BR and a Rhode Island Red pullet (I think!). Is the next step to get more hens?

Thanks, all!

Yes that's a rooster. And I think he will be okay with just your 2 hens. If he starts paying them too much "attention" you can always get them some hen saddles.

Yeah it might be because she will get all the "attention" and that might be rough on her. You will probably have to get another hen or 2. The more the better.

I don't think having two more hens will make a difference, they will more than likely end up all over mated, it does depend on the rooster and his personality. I have had single pairs before but they have all been more docile breeds.

Right now I have my barred rock roo with 3 hens. I haven't had any problems (yet) but I have more hens coming my way in a few days, just adding to my flock.
