These 10 chicks are mixes between White Leghorn, Black Australorp, Americauna(White Leghorn/Amercauna Roo over Austra-whites primarily). They each should have 1 pea comb gene and 1 single comb gene and with the Leghorn genes their pea combs will be quite large especially on the boys...
#1 about 99% sure this is a cockerel, he has a large 3 row pea comb. He is a handsome boy and I plan to keep this one (he protected our younger Red Stars from the other chickens).
#2 Leaning towards cockerel. Pea comb is getting largish but not as red.
#3 Barred possible hen, small comb but turning red so early worries me.
#4 Barred hen is what I think, what about you?
#5 Looks like a hen to me
#6 cockerel?
#7 I think cockerel
#8
#9 Hoping for one more hen... but I think I had bad odds with that
#10 Pretty confident this is a hen
