Got six chicks for my birthday! Glad to find Backyard Chickens site for all my questions!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Last year I hatched chicks for my science fair, 2 survived, and that is how I started loving chickens. One of my two chicks ended up being a rooster, and once he started crowing we had to give them away to a happy farm in the country.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6 chicks right now (1 week old).
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have one Rhode Island red, 1 black austrolorpe, 1 buff orpington, 1 silver laced wyandotte, and two amber whites.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
web-surfing with questions during my science fair research last year.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
reading, zoology, dancing, viola
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 5 people in the family: a sister, brother, mom & dad. I also have a bunny, fish and guinea pig. I love animals!
