Yes, for now hes doing well and keeping up. Been watching him closely.

Yes! It was our first time buying from them. Are you saying that because of the Crossbeak or just a possibility of having so many roosters? Or something else?

But yes, overall it has been very frustrating especially having little knowledge about chicks in general

Yeah, the crossbeak. I mean I'm no expert, but to get a crossbeak that bad, somewhere along the line, I would think you've got to have other crossbeak birds that you are letting reproduce. So maybe he's fine to keep in your own backyard flock, and maybe you can give him a good quality of life, but a guy like that should never be used for hatching eggs.

There's a lot of farmish type breeders that are legit just not paying attention and don't care. I don't know how else that happens from people who should know better.

Hang in there. BYC can be a big help. See how they grow out. Did they say anything about what to do if they did give you cockerels?
