Curious if anyone can give insight on one of my buff Orpington chicks. They are just over 7 weeks old and one of them has a bigger comb that has red in it. She looks identical to the others in every other way. We bought all sexed chicks from a hatchery and already have one definite rooster in the bunch.

I also have a barred rock that I'm curious about. The Orpington's comb looks more red in person than these photos, but I couldn't get the camera to show that. I also have a pic of our 3 barred rocks. They all have what I believe is female coloring with their feathers. They all have black on the tops of their feet and toes, so I think she is a girl. But (same thing) her comb is bigger?

I know it may take time, just curious of thoughts

Too early to tell, but I don't see anything that would worry me at the moment, they look like pullets to me, maybe one maturing faster than the others. 12-15 weeks and you'll know for sure, but I believe you have a nice flock of pullets!
I'm so hopeful! We can't have roosters and my kids are already so sad that we have to rehome Lemon Pepper. They'd be so upset if we lost any more.
I agree. All pullets so far, and I don't think that will change.
Thank you! I'm hopeful - this is encouraging.
I see all girls!
🙌🏼🤗 thanks! I hope you're right!!!
