Age old question... Pullet or Roo? Started making a loud hideous sound a few times this morning. Not sure what to make of it.

Looks like a pullet to me. Most of my girls make a "honking" noise as they mature. It eventually turns to clucking and cackling though

Honking is probably a decent description of the sound. It was just following the loud "I'm gonna go make an egg now!" proclamation by my usually quiet EE. So thinking Shirley was just trying to imitate. Thanks for your opinion!

I'm going to say pullet. I don't see much of a comb there.

Looks just like my hen when she was that age i'd say it's a pullet
