80'X80' Subdivided Chicken Yard

80'X 80' subdivided into 4 pens 40'x40'. How many birds can I fit in each pen? Med - Large birds.

40 X 40 = 1,600 square feet

1,600 square feet / 10 square feet per bird = 160 birds

That's correct IF they also have a COOP with 4-5 sq ft per bird
If that will be their TOTAL living space, I'd cut the number of birds in half at least

"Pen" is a pretty vague term.

640 birds in an 80 X 80 space seems pretty crowded to me
