My coop is almost done! Most of the major work is done, just needs some finishing trim, ramps and at some point when the budget allows, automatic doors. I also want to put a built in brooder in my coop, but that will need to wait a month or two.
I have three sectioned runs. This is the right hand side.
The inside of the coop is sectioned off into two halves. There is a chicken door in the middle that I can block off when trying to integrate new chicks. This is the left side:
and this is the right side:
The left side run: (don't look at the construction mess, we just finished this half tonight!)
and my baby pen area:
Once the babies are big enough to join the general population all I need to do is open the door on the left side.
I left four feet of space in the front of the coop for food storage and supplies. On the left side is where I am going to build a built-in brooder.
I still need to finish the hardware cloth on the bottom. That is my project for tomorrow.
