I was wondering about this since I'm retiring my diy bator and I would have eggs sitting around for 16 days or so till my Octo was empty. How old is the study? The link for room temp storage was the same as the fridge storage

Interesting study about the eggs stored for 20 in a fridge. The 20 day room temp study is the same link as the fridge study and doesn't work.

Surprising that they still had 75% hatch rates at 20 days of storage in a fridge.

Maybe I Missed It But The Study Didnt Seem To Address Post Hatch Mortality On Refrigerated Eggs??

In My Experience Its Noticeably Higher

I was kind of curious as to why in the egg position study they did not turn the eggs small end down, only horizontally. Some odd studies, but maybe a little useful info here and there.

Orange is a mutation.

I still toss eggs after 7 days...chicks get much weaker after you store eggs longer.
