a friend said this about ducks and it sounds crazy

i recently told a friend that i had chickens and suggested he get some too (it is right up his alley) in response he said
"I would never get chickens they are filthy, but i would get ducks because they only S*** in the water never on land"
this is crazy right? i am assuming here but i thought ducks pooped everywhere.

There are some number of duck myths floating around. Ducks pretty much go where they are, unless they're broody, in which case they wait till they're off the nest.
