My silkie Constance decided she was broody. She has already sat on eggs this year and was a great mummy. So, gave her 11 eggs!!!!! A bit much maybe but she took one look and settled down. All was fine for 5 days, then she decided that actually she didn't want to sit anymore and left them. When I found her the eggs were cold and i was just going to through them away but my friend had duck eggs in her incubator so she told me to bring them over. So, i was taking them out to put them in a box and I dropped 3!!!!!!! Anyway 8 of them went in, they were candled after a week and one was thrown away. We thought that they might take a bit longer for them to grow but no, on Wednesday one of them started to hatch and the last one is just about to come out now!!! I am very surprised i got such a good hatching rate!!
So, I just wanted to let everyone know not to despair if your broody doesn't want to sit anymore or the electricity goes off, it's not the end!!
Shall try and post pics soon!!!

How wonderful!
