I have a hen who lays her eggs on the roost, where the roost is supported by the wall. The eggs never fall and break, she lays everyday.
Should I try to correct this or just let her go and laugh everytime I get the eggs off the roost?

Chickens perfer nesting boxes that are high off of the ground, it's natural to them to lay somewhere where a predator can't get it. but i guess some hens are just lazy

. but sometimes, like my girls, they have their favorite boxes, and when there is a hen already in their favorite box, they will just lay wherever.

You can try to put like a golfball, boiled egg, or buy a wooden egg from the store, inside the boxes, and it encourages the hens to lay in there.

All the other hens lay in the boxes. I tried a few things but nothing seemed to help. The golf ball idea didn't work the other girls just pushed it out of the nests. It was hilarious to watch:lol:
