Plot
Earth is in ruins. There is no fresh water anywhere, fires rage uncontrollably across the globe and poverty reigns. 200 years ago the leaders of NASA and the President organized and set into motion an operation to migrate onto another planet recently spotted by NASA's newest telescope. They had no idea what the environment is like except that there is an atmosphere. However there was no time to waste. It took 10 years to build a spaceship large enough for the amount of people that were going. It took 180 years to get there, only when the spaceship came into orbit, we saw the new planet was covered in water. You now live on large stationary boats that look like huge aircraft carriers. There are 5 different villages, Green, Red, Orange, Purple, and Blue. Humans survive on the many types of fish, seaweed, and the crops grown on board. It is almost always sunny and humid it only rains one day a year, always the same day, Spring Harvest Day. Scientists are working to discover a way to breathe under water but for now there are only very lightweight, advanced scuba-diving suits. The goal is to create a colony that lives completely under water. Wars brake out between the villages, most often between Purple and Green. Alliances are formed and betrayed, wars rage and die out. Will mankind destroy there chance to redeem themselves?

His current research interests include various ways to make freshwater including using semi-permeable membranes and the deep-oceans own pressure to create seawater, developing GMO algae that can be crushed to harvest fresh water and old school solar distilling techniques. While all three work, their output is still limited. Doc also is an ocean explorer and inventor of SCUBA rebreathers. He keeps a catalog of all the newly discovered life forms (and would like the help of an assistant).
Doc reluctantly accepts the fact that warfare is still sometimes necessary among humans; he is reluctantly capable of inventing weapons. However, he views warfare among the few remaining human ships as a primitive, barbaric and a stupid waste of resources and more importantly, lives.
Doc is a reluctant member of the inner circle as his perspective and wisdom are often very helpful. However, he is much more comfortable underwater or working on one of his many projects. Doc doesn’t suffer fools well and can be blunt.
Doc is an excellent diver and is very comfortable interacting with marine life.
