I have 3 - 4 week old chicks one of which I am going to give to a neighbor but I want to wait and see how they feather out before I decide which one to re-home. The neighbor has 3 RRs the same age. How soon do I need to decide which one - to limit the trouble when we combine the one with the 3 RRs? Or is it already going to be a process to combine?

Rehoming 1 young chick with 3 adults will be hard on the chick. Could the neighbour have 2? Ir wait until they are full grown at least?

I'm usually pretty chilled about adding new members, but one young chick would worry me however you did it

Which you said in your post, duh! Sorry, I did read it I promise/

At 4 weeks I find they mix and match easily. By 8 weeks there are some fisticuffs, so the sooner the better really but chicks are much easier than adults to integrate.
