Hello All! I wanted to follow-up with you about the necropsy. The pathologist was very nice and took time to speak with me on the phone. We received the necropsy report and it wasn't what we expected. The diagnosis was yolk coelomitis, oviductal infection. Unfortunately she didn't present with the obvious symptom of yolk laying, so it's easily confused with egg-binding. The pathologist said that unfortunately there aren't any vets in the area that see chickens (I learned the hard way by calling everyone in a 100 mile radius) and nothing we could have done by the time she became lethargic.

Here's a link for more information and with steps you can take to try to prevent a loss like mine: http://beautyofbirds.com/eggyolkperitonitis.html

I hope this information helps anyone else in a similar situation.
