Hello! I am relatively new to raising chickens. I have 7 adult laying hens (almost two years old now) and received 5 new d'uccles (they're 4-5 weeks old). I noticed one had her eye closed and I tried tending to it with warm compresses (just warm water and a cotton ball), but unfortunately (I never pried it open to check) and its shriveled up and she is definitely blind now in her right eye. She is a bit smaller than the others, but I make sure she gets enough to eat. They also do not bully her, they cuddle each other and cry out for each other when separated... act like typical chicks at that age. I just wanted some advice on what to watch out for to make sure she lives a healthy, happy life.

My adult chickens are allowed to roam throughout our whole backyard and catch bugs and dig for worms on top of the feed we give them every morning.

Attached are images of her bad eye, healthy eye, and other chick for size comparison.
