I have a lone mottled Japanese Bantam Rooster (black/white). He is perfect show quality..... but I am unable to get any mottled hens for him!!!

I have been searching in my area for hens for about 1 year.. but no luck.

I want to breed him to get more mottled birds. Please help me!!!! What can I do? Is it possible to get mottled (and how) from the following hen colours X the mottled rooster....

Black
Black tail buff
Black tail white
White (pink skin and yellow legs)
White (dark skin and dark legs)
Ginger

Thank you anyone that can advise me!

Breeding your mottled with blacks will give chicks that carry mottling... breed them to the mottled father and you will get mottleds. The other colors are a whole different pattern, where black and mottled are both black with the exception of the mottling gene(which is recessive).

Thank you so much.

He will be enjoying himself with the black hens tomorrow!
