Yep they are cute little fuzzy butts that can fit into a shot glass. The first two pics are of them I just sold

might just have to hatch more. I was only hatching them cause I had a double yoke quail egg I wanted to try hatching. Its the third and forth pic. The brown egg is a x-large chicken egg. Oh and the last pic is of the quail that laid an egg in my had just after the two nice ladies came and took the quail babies home.

How long did it take them to start walking correctly?
My baby quail that I hatched is now two days old, and still has troubles.

They where up and running with in 6 hour time frame. They where not even dry before they new how to walk and run. I hate to say it but if your baby is not running/walking by now something is wrong. What type of problomes is the baby having with walking?

It legs would slip a lot and such, like it would do the splits occasionally.
And its toes seem rather flexible.
It is doing better now, like starting to run, but only on rough surfaces, if the surface is even slightly smooth, if slips and slides.

Ok It sounds like the start or straddle leg very common in quail and more so in button quail. I suggest to get a rubberized non skid shelf liner that is commonly used in motor homes (available in most stores that sell shelf liners) its pretty cheep at Wal~mart. Normally I would just use paper towels but because you little guy all ready has some problems I would go with the shelf liners as soon as I could. But that is just my thing.

Sooo Today is my anniversary and my hubby said he would buy me a new bator. I was so existed because I have a cheep styrofoam one. So when he asked me what type of one I wanted i was like ummmm.......... Soooo ya I need help. What type do I ask for. Now keep in mind that I am not one of the people that hatch out hundreds of chicks. Only like 50 a year. Maybe 100 if you count the quail. Oh and we are not super rich but it is a 7th anniversary present so you know like maybe $250 to $300 at most though I am a cheepy so the cheeper the better but still with quality. Any Ideas?
