I like sprouting my own seeds for salads, wraps and stir fry. I have plenty of nice sprouting alfalfa seed. Can I give some to my chicks? How soon can I share greens with them? I thought this might be a cute, fun, refreshing and healthy treat to give them.

Share away! Be prepared for feeding frenzy once they know what they are.
My 11 year old daughter got a sprout kit for Christmas for her chickens, the chicks love them even more than the adults.
She has bantams and starts giving the treats about 2 weeks of age. The love them, she feeds the little guys sprouts that are a bit younger, shorter sprout basically.

We did put a old pie plate with some dirt from the garden & mixed a little grit in with it. Figured they might need some small grit with the treats. This created another frenzy of fun for the chicks.

We are constantly sprouting
